About
// who's behind this
Vape Press covers vaping in the United Kingdom as a policy and retail story: what the rules permit, what enforcement finds, and what the shelves look like after each change. We write for adults who already use nicotine and for adult smokers considering switching — not for anyone else.
Who writes here
The site is edited by Owen Braithwaite, a disclosed house pen name maintained by our editorial team — the Economist model, stated openly rather than hidden. Reviews run under the editor's byline; news runs under “Staff, Vape Press.” We publish no fabricated author biographies and claim no credentials we do not have — see the editorial policy for how the bylines work.
How this site is funded
Vape Press is an independent, commercially supported publication. We may earn affiliate or advertising revenue from links on the site. That revenue never dictates our conclusions: scores, pros and cons are editorial judgments, sponsored material is always disclosed with the post, and no verdict can be bought. Commercial enquiries go through the advertise page.
Who this is for
We write for adult vapers, adult smokers considering switching, retailers and trade readers.
How we work
Rules are attributed to the instrument that sets them, with dates. Where something is a proposal or a consultation, we call it that rather than describing it as law. Product limits, enforcement outcomes and market figures come from published sources and are attributed. Comparative-risk statements about vaping and smoking are quoted from named public-health bodies with their date, and never rounded up into a claim that anything is safe.
Corrections
If we have published an error — a figure, a date, a term, anything — we want to know. Reach the editorial desk via the contact page. Corrections are the fastest queue we run, and material ones are noted in the post.
